Osteointegration
The aim of this trial was to find the optimal surface treatment for MP1TM screws for best Osteointegration.
Three surface treatments were tested:
No treatment
Abrasion with SiC
Abrasion + Ta deposition by Plasma
Coating and abrasion were tried in order to promote the osteointegration into the bone.
Screws were implanted in rabbits for 4-6 weeks.

Trial 2:
24 screws of 2 designs treated with Abrasion + Ta deposition by Plasma and 24 screws of Ti (control samples) were implanted in sheep bone for 4-12 weeks.
